Following the success of its inaugural year in 2023, the Australia Awards Short Course on Grains Value Chain Leadership Program has brought a second cohort of future leaders of the Indonesian grains industry to Australia to develop their networks and knowledge. The group are in Australia for two weeks to learn about the Australian grain industry, enhance their leadership skills and strengthen ties between Australia and Indonesia
On Tuesday GIWA was very pleased to host the cohort of 25 delegates. The day started with a trip to CBH’s Kwinana terminal for a tour and presentation by CBH. From here the group travelled through the Avon Valley to Leon Ryan’s farm east of York, where they were amazed by the size of the machinery and the fact that Leon operates his business with only three people.
Then it was back to Perth where they were joined by representatives from the GIWA Wheat Council, Grains Australia and AEGIC for an Industry Dinner with the guest of honour, Ibu Listiana Operananta, Consul General of Indonesia.
