In recognition and celebration of The United Nations International Day of Women and Girls in Science, GIWA and Australian Export Grains Innovation Centre (AEGIC) are celebrating women in science and R&D in Australian agriculture and the grain industry at the 2024 GIWA Breakfast.

Tickets are now on sale for the 2024 GIWA Breakfast which is held in conjunction with the GRDC Grains Research Update, Perth and is proudly sponsored by AEGIC.
Guests will enjoy a video presentation from Jessica Wade, a physicist and Research Fellow at the Blackett Laboratory of Imperial College in London. Jessica is a multiple award-winner including a British Empire Medal for services to gender diversity in science and has been creating Wikipedia profiles for overlooked women scientists since 2017.
Following AEGIC’s Executive General Manager Courtney Draper will moderate a panel to discuss science in agriculture and the importance of fostering women’s leadership within the grains industry. The panel will also delve into ways we as an industry seek to broaden the diversity of voices contributing to our grains industry.
